QUELQUES RÈGLES DE JEU POUR LA COMPÉTITION PAR TROUS (Match Play)

Le jeu est régi par les RÈGLES DU GOLF 2023 de GOLF Canada, les conditions de la compétition et les règles locales d’application générale de Golf Québec. 

• Le joueur est responsable de connaître les Règles du golf et de les (Règle 1.3 b).

• Jouer hors tour : L’adversaire peut immédiatement annuler le coup que le joueur a effectué hors tour (Règle 6.4a (2) : pas de pénalité. 

• Concession : Un joueur peut concéder un coup, un trou ou le match. Ceci est permis en tout temps :
  • Avant le prochain coup de l’adversaire.
  • Avant que le trou soit complété.
  • Avant que le résultat du match soit décidé (Règle 2 b (1)).

• En cas de doute, on n’a pas le droit de jouer une 2^e balle : on doit régler les problèmes par entente avec l’adversaire (Règle 20.1 b(1)) S’il n’y a pas d’entente, l’un ou l’autre joueur peut demander une décision avant que le résultat du match soit final. (Règle 20.1b(2)).

• Aire de départ : Si, pour commencer un trou, un joueur joue à partir de l’extérieur de l’aire de départ, l’adversaire peut immédiatement exiger que le joueur annule le coup et joue une balle à partir de l’intérieur de l’aire de départ. Si l’adversaire n’exige pas l’annulation du coup, le coup compte et la balle doit être jouée où elle repose. (Règle 6.1b(1)).

• Dans la zone générale, on n’a pas le droit de replacer une motte de gazon près de sa balle avant de jouer, même chose pour les imperfections, trous de balle, sable etc. : perte du trou (Règle 8.1a).

• Mauvaise balle : Effectuer un coup sur une mauvaise balle : perte du trou. Si le joueur et son adversaire échangent leur balle durant le jeu d’un trou, le premier à effectuer un coup sur une mauvaise balle encourt la perte du Si on ne peut déterminer qui a joué en premier sur la mauvaise balle, il n’y a pas de pénalité et le trou doit être complété avec les balles échangées. (Règle 6.3c).

• Jouer du mauvais endroit : perte du trou (Règle 7a).

• Balle provisoire : Si la balle originale est retrouvée avant les 3 minutes permises pour la recherche, la balle provisoire doit être abandonnée. Un coup effectué sur la balle provisoire dans cette condition : perte du trou (Règle 18.3c (3)).

• Balle au repos déplacée : Il n’y a pas de pénalité si la balle du joueur est accidentellement déplacée par le joueur, l’adversaire ou quelqu’un d’autre en tentant de la trouver ou de l’identifier. La balle doit être replacée à son emplacement original. (Règle 7.4) ; si on ne la replace pas: perte du trou. 

• Balle en mouvement déviée : Il n’y a pas de pénalité à quiconque. Ceci est vrai même si la balle frappe le joueur, l’adversaire et tout autre joueur ou le cadet ou l’équipement de l’un d’eux. La balle doit être jouée où elle repose. Lire attentivement les Règles 11.1a et b. pour les exceptions. 

• Détritus : Un joueur peut, sans pénalité, enlever un détritus n’importe où sur ou à l’extérieur du terrain et il peut le faire de n’importe quelle façon (comme avec la main ou le pied, un bâton ou une autre pièce d’équipement) (Règle 15.1a). Sauf sur le vert ou l’aire de départ, si l’enlèvement du détritus cause le déplacement de la balle, la balle doit être replacée avec 1 coup de pénalité. (Règle 15.1b).

• Ne jamais enlever un détritus qu’on pense pouvoir nuire ou aider l’adversaire, sinon perte du trou (Règle 11.3).

Note : Pour ne pas alourdir le texte, la forme masculine a été adoptée pour désigner, lorsqu’il y a lieu, aussi bien les femmes que les hommes.

MATCH PLAY – A FEW BASIC RULES OF PLAY

Play is governed by Golf Canada’s 2023 Rules of Golf, Golf Québec’s Standard Local Rules, and Conditions of the Competition.

• It is YOUR responsibility to know and apply the Rules of Golf. (Rule 1.3(b)).
• Playing Out of Turn: There is no penalty for playing out of turn, BUT your opponent may immediately cancel the stroke made out of turn (Rule 6.4a (2).
• Concession: You may concede a stroke, a hole, or the match. This is permitted at any time:
  • Before the opponent’s next stroke.
  • Before the hole is completed.
  • Before the result of the match is decided (Rule 3.2 b (1)).
• Playing 2 balls – In Match play, you are not allowed to play a 2^nd ball when you are uncertain about a procedure or ruling; problems must be settled by agreement with the opponent (Rule 20.1 b(1)). If there is no agreement, you or your opponent may request a decision before the result of the match is final. (Rule 20.1b(2)).
• Teeing Area (Starting play of a Hole): When starting play of a hole, if you play a ball from outside the teeing area (including from a wrong set of tee markers), there is no penalty, BUT your opponent may immediately cancel your stroke and require you to play a play a ball from inside the teeing area. If the opponent does not cancel the stroke, the stroke counts and the ball must be played where it lies. (Rule 6.1b(1)).
• In the general area, you are not allowed to modify the playing conditions near your ball such as replacing a divot near your ball before playing, or fixing irregularities, ball marks, removing sand etc.: Penalty is loss of the hole (Rule 8.1a).
• Wrong ball: If you play a wrong ball, you lose the hole. If you and an opponent exchange balls during the play of a hole, the first player to make a stroke at a wrong ball loses the hole. If it is not possible to determine who played the wrong ball first, there is no penalty, and the hole must be completed with the balls exchanged. (Rule 6.3c).
• Wrong place: If you play from a wrong place, you lose the hole (Rule 14.7a).
• Provisional Ball: If your original ball is found before the 3-minutes allowed for search, the provisional ball must be abandoned. You will lose the hole if you make a with the provisional ball in this condition (Rule 18.3c(3)).
• Ball at rest moved during search: There is no penalty if a player’s ball is accidentally moved by the player, an opponent, or someone else while trying to find or identify it. The ball must be replaced on its original spot. (Rule 7.4); If it is not replaced, the player loses the hole.
• Ball in motion deflected: There is no penalty to anyone. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent, or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. The ball must be played as it lies. Read Rules 11.1a and b carefully for exceptions.
• Loose impediment (natural objects): You may, without penalty, remove a loose impediment (stone, acorn) anywhere on or off the course and may do so in any manner (such as with hand or foot, using a club or other equipment) (Rule 15.1a). Except on the putting green or in the teeing area, if the removal of the loose impediment causes your ball to move, the ball must be replaced, and you must add one penalty stroke (Rule 15.1b).
• Deliberate actions to affect a Ball in motion – When a ball is in motion (whether it is your ball or someone else’s) – Do NOT remove a loose impediment or object that might affect where the ball might come to rest.  If you do so, you lose the hole no matter what the outcome is. (Rule 11.3).
